Hard Copy Processing

TechLaw Solutions pioneered the use of digital document imaging in the 1980’s, and the company remains committed to providing top-quality services for a wide variety of hard copy documents.

While most documents created today exist only in digital form, substantial paper or microform-based materials still exist. Printed documents may be marked-up or annotated during a meeting or conference call, creating a unique document that exists only in hardcopy form. TechLaw Solutions offers premier hard copy imaging services to help law firms and corporations manage these materials. 100% QC over the life of the project is also available for any project that requires the highest levels of accuracy and consistency. Hard Copy Processing Services include:

Scanning

Leveraging proprietary scanning technology and experienced document imaging professionals, TechLaw Solution’s scanning services are highly scalable.

In addition, TechLaw Solutions offers specialty-scanning services for non-standard materials that require extensive human involvement. Past imaging projects have included fragile high-acid papers that are on the verge of disintegration, oversized blueprints, and drawings, and faded originals that require extensive post-processing in order to capture a viable digital image.

OCR

Optical Character Recognition (“OCR”) has emerged as a useful supplement and sometime substitute for bibliographic coding. Computer-generated text is fully searchable, and high-quality OCR offers unique insight into a document collection.

TechLaw Solution’s OCR services are designed to maximize the information gleaned through its proprietary, fourth-generation system. Employing a variety of image clarification algorithms and voting engine technology, TechLaw Solutions creates the cleanest possible image-extracted text.

Near-duplicate detection

TechLaw Solutions has integrated Equivio’s industry-leading “near-duplicate” identification technology with Lexposé. After imaging and OCR, this advanced capability permits related documents to be grouped for common review and provides greater consistency in analysis and classification, often resulting in a significant reduction of a document collection.
